Background and Training

My educational journey began at Kingswood College, Kandy, followed by an MBBS from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya in 2001. After completing my internship in 2002, I pursued advanced training in urology.

From 2011 to 2013, I trained at Kings College Hospital, London, a leading international center for urological surgery, where I gained invaluable experience. I qualified as a Consultant Urologist in 2013.

​

In Sri Lanka, I have served at major hospitals including Kandy Teaching Hospital, Badulla Provincial Hospital, Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, and Chilaw District General Hospital.

Since 2017, I have been in full-time private practice and currently consult at:

  • Hemas Hospital (Wattala & Thalawathugoda)

  • Durdans Hospital, Colombo

  • Lanka Hospital, Colombo

My primary area of professional interest is the management and surgical treatment of kidney stone disease, with a strong focus on minimally invasive procedures. Over the years, I have developed significant expertise in:

  • Ureterorenoscopy with laser lithotripsy (RIRS)

  • Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL)

Having performed thousands of these procedures, I am particularly drawn to the precision and evolving technology of endourological surgery, which allows for effective treatment with faster recovery and fewer complications.
